Bonclarken has benefited greatly over the years by God’s goodness and the generosity of thousands of great friends. These friends have supported Bonclarken financially in the three ways below or with their time as volunteers.

• Annual gifts through the Mountain Club

The Mountain Club is the backbone of our fundraising efforts, providing funds that are applied to the day-to-day operations of Bonclarken, thereby aiding us in our efforts to keep our facilities in the best condition and to hold guest fees as low as possible.

The Mountain Club annual campaign begins November 1st each year and concludes October 31st. Two solicitations are sent out for Mountain Club gifts, one in November and one in April. The Mountain Club provides 6% of our annual budget, so this support is very much needed and appreciated.

If you have an interest in securing the future of Bonclarken through a planned gift, please contact Eleanor Richardson by email or by calling 828-692-2223.

• Capital gifts

Our most recent capital campaign, the Campaign for The Lodge, was very successful with over $2.9 million pledged. Gifts toward The Lodge are still very much appreciated!

Past capital campaigns have raised support for the Youth Activity Building and Founders Hall.

• Planned gifts/endowment support

Bonclarken promotes planned giving for our endowment through our To the Hills Society.

If you have an interest in securing the future of Bonclarken through a planned gift, please contact Eleanor Richardson by email or by calling 828-692-2223.

• Volunteers

Our volunteers are a vital part of the continued success of Bonclarken. Each April, over 150 volunteers join us for Volunteer Work Week. Preparing for our busy summer season would be almost impossible if not for the large volume of work that is accomplished by our volunteers during Work Week.

We have volunteers join us at many other times during the year as well. If you are interested in spending a few days at Bonclarken to aid in with a project or other work, please let us know.

Supporting Bonclarken with either your time or talents greatly aids our continuing efforts to serve as a “Christian environment for inspiration and renewal.” We thank you.
